About the self-confessed technology junkie (Gearkin?)
My name is Roger Dix and currently live in the Lake District in the United Kingdom. I started taking photos around 8 years ago, after being given the very capable and classic Nikon F301. Bless you Cathy, I still have it.
I then got hold of a Nikon F60 and then graduated to a F90X. After that it was on to a Coolpix 5700 which was the dawn of the digital age for me. The other cameras started gathering dust and, except for the 301, were sold off.
Nowadays I travel in the fine company of the D200 so I think it's fair to say I'm a Nikon man through and through but if anyone offered me a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III I'd could probably be persuaded to abandon my loyalty.
Although my passion is for landscapes and natural imagery, I have taken photographs for Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, and do occassional products shoots.
Being based in Cumbria offers fantastic opportunities for photography and it is my aim to explore them all.
