Welcome to Dixie Pixels UK
keyhole to the world My camera allows me to focus on things. Not only using the focus ring on the lens but with my attention and in my thinking. With the world media enthusiastically beating the drum of gloom, I find photography a useful way to identify moments, scenes or incidents that hold an uplifting significance or quality. These qualities may be more obvious in some images, like an expression of joy on a face, to the more subtle ones of gentleness or poise. By looking for these uplifting moments and being more receptive generally, I am often rewarded with little gems of everyday life that would have otherwise slipped by unnoticed. My frame of mind always influences the type of photos I take at the time and can change my whole experience from one visit to the next. This is particularly true in my interaction with animals and I have often found that my frame of mind can be a determining factor in the interactions that I have with them. Deer don't seem to like a "grump patch" and it's seldom that I'll see one if my outlook is grim. On the other hand, one particularly cheerful morning I had a little wren land on my shoulder. What a treat! Anyway, have a look around and enjoy the keyholes to my world so far. - Dixie |
